The rules for using Ascent.
These terms cover what Ascent agrees to do and what we ask of you in return. Read them with the privacy policy for the full picture.
What Ascent is
Ascent is a platform for strategy consultants and the executives they advise: you run client engagements, map the strategic house, run AI-readiness assessments, and generate recommended actions. The service is operated from the UK by the Ascent team.
Your account
You need a valid email address; sign-in is handled by Clerk. You're responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us at hello@ascent.build if you think it's been compromised.
Client and engagement data
Ascent holds information about your clients and their strategy. By entering it you confirm you have the right to process it for your advisory work, and you agree to handle it lawfully — including any obligations to the organisations and people it concerns.
What we ask you not to do
- Enter data you don't have the right to process.
- Reverse-engineer the service, scrape it systematically, or circumvent rate limits.
- Impersonate other people or businesses.
- Distribute malware or run security exploits through the service.
We can suspend or close an account that violates the above, at our discretion. We'll explain why when we do.
Your content
Your engagements, client records, assessments, and the synthesis Ascent drafts for you are yours. We store them so the service works and we don't use them for anything else (see privacy).
Third-party services
Ascent relies on Clerk (auth), Anthropic (the Claude AI behind synthesis), Vercel (hosting), and Neon (database). Their availability and terms are out of our control; when a third party goes down, features depending on it go down too.
Beta and pricing
Ascent is in beta. While in beta we may release breaking changes, change features, or pause the service. We'll tell you before introducing paid tiers.
Service availability
We aim for high uptime but make no specific guarantee during beta. The service is provided as is, without warranties beyond what UK law requires.
Closing your account
Email hello@ascent.build to close your account; we remove your data within 30 days.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
